774,000 Jobs: Festus Keyamo clarifies indigenes and non-indigenes selection status

The Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has made clarification on the status of indigenes and place of residence in the selection process in the ongoing jobs for 774,000 Nigerians.

In his reaction to the controversial issue, the Minister said;

“We understand some States’ Selection Committees are considering only indigenes for the 774,000 jobs. That’s unacceptable. Anyone who is resident in any LGA in the country, irrespective of tribe, is qualified. It’s one country in which we all live. The NDE coordinators should note.”

It has been reported that some committees are selecting only indigenes. With this clarification, it’s believed, consideration will also now be given to others.
