Court grants SERAP appeal to compel CBN to disclose details of COVID-19 donations, donors and spending

Hon. Justice I.E Ekwo (COURT 5) of the Federal High Court, Abuja, today granted the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) the permission to pursue their case seeking to compel the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, to disclose details of COVID-19 donations received, list of donors, details of spending of the donations, etc.

According to the ruling, the Motion on Notice is to be filed within 7 days, and the CBN must respond to the suit within 30 days of being served.
