Edo State extends curfew for another 14 days

The Edo State government has approved the extension of the 8pm to 6am curfew in the State for another 14 days. According to the State governor Godwin Obaseki, the extension will take effect from Wednesday 13th May, 2020.

Governor Obaseki stated;

“I have approved the extension of the 8pm to 6am curfew in the state for another 14 days, effective from May 13, 2020. We are taking this step to ensure that we contain the spread of #COVID19 and protect our people.”

Edo State has seen remarkable increase in numbers of cases of COVID-19 in recent days which may have led to this extension. The past few days have also witness the influx of Almajiris into the State especially from the border with Kogi State.
