Federal High Court grants CBN’s ex-parte order to freeze key EndSARS protesters promoters

An Abuja Federal High Court has granted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ex-parte order to freeze Bank account of key EndSARS protesters promoters.

The Apex had on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 filed an ex-parte court application to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company adjudged to be masterminds of the recent nationwide protests against police brutality in Nigeria.

In his ruling on Thursday, November 5, 2020, Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja granted the order.

The following banks were by this judgement ordered to freeze the accounts of the EndSARS promoters; Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank, GTB, Zenith Bank and UBA.
