Governor Godwin Obaseki wins re-election

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has been elected for another term of four years as governor of Edo State.

Governor Obaseki who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.

Obaseki polled a total of 307, 955 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu-Iyamu who got 223, 619 votes.
