Lekki Massacre: SERAP calls on President Buhari to support UN commission of inquiry

The Socio-Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari “to publicly support the call for a UN commission of inquiry to probe what exactly happened in Lekki shooting, attacks on EndSARS peaceful protesters, looting, etc in Nigeria.”

This call follows the recent CNN investigation on Nigeria’s anti-brutality protest which confirm the use of brute force by security agents on peaceful protesters.

According to SERAP;

“A more independent, impartial and transparent body and process would clear any doubts about what happened, identify those responsible, restore the rule of law, bring about a measure of accountability and break the cycle of impunity, as well as ensure justice for victims.”
