ngCERT warns about increasing rate of malware and phishing mails

The Nigeria Computer Emergency Response Team (ngCERT) has warned the general public about increasing rate of malware and phishing emails in recent times.

ngCERT noted that there has been a “dramatic increase in the number of malware and phishing mails that disguise as COVID-19 related material.”

ngCERT advised members of the Nigerian public to exercise caution when dealing with COVID-19 related material.

In a related development, ngCERT also advise members of the Nigerian Public to pay attention to their home WiFi security. ngCERT advised the public to;

“Always Use at least WPA2 security, disable Remote Access, UPnP and WPS if you do not use them. Update the firmware on your IoT devices and always change the default password”
