Sultan announces sight of new moon, Ramadan begins tomorrow

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar has just announced the sighting of the new month of Ramadan and therefore declared tomorrow Friday April 24th, 2020 as the 1st day of Ramadan in Nigeria.

According to the Sultan, the moon is sighted in many cities in Nigeria and verified by the National Moonsighting Committee.

In his address, he urged all Muslim fateful across the country to use this Holy month of Ramadan to pray for Nigeria and her leaders.

In a related development, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his best wishes to Muslims in the country and all over the world as they begin this year’s 30-day fast, following the sighting of the moon of Ramadan.

According to Presidential Aide, Bashir Ahmad, President Buhari urge all Muslim fateful to pray for the peace of the country and also for this pandemic to come to an end.
